Custom Metal Yard Art
Local Artisan Spotlight: Handmade Yard Art with Heart
I met this gentleman at our local swap meet, where he was proudly displaying his handmade yard art. At 88 years old, Franklin Frey is still creating, building, and selling his own custom pieces.
His work has a true Southwest feel, with metal silhouettes of coyotes, roosters, rabbits, dogs, cactus, and other desert-inspired designs. Each piece has character, charm, and the kind of handmade quality you do not find in a big-box store.
He is a local artisan who depends on selling his art to help support himself. Buying from him is more than just purchasing yard decor — it is helping support a hardworking member of the community who continues to use his skills, creativity, and determination every day.
These pieces would look great in a front yard, garden, patio, ranch entrance, desert landscape, or as a unique gift for someone who appreciates handmade local art. Prices vary with the size and time to create them.
Please consider giving him a call to ask about his current selling location, stop by to take a look, and support this local craftsman. Every purchase helps.
